Alex Trebek Net Worth

Alex Trebek is the host of “Jeopardy,” and he has a net worth around $50 million. He is one of the most recognizable faces in the world thanks to the fact that he’s been hosting the famous game show for so long. He was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, and did not come to the states right away. He actually spent much of his time studying when he grew up, and he graduated college with a degree in philosophy. He had no intention on ever becoming a famous game show host, but that is just the way that life worked out for the famous television star.

It wasn’t long after he graduated, however, that he began to develop an interest in broadcasting and applied for a job with the Canadian Broadcasting System. It was then he decided he wanted to become a newscaster, and began focusing his career there. That career, while a great one to have, never would have allowed the famous star to earn the kind of salary he makes today. His job was national news and special events, and he spent five years doing that. Alex Trebek did not begin his game show hosting career until 1966, when he was chosen to host a show by the name of “Reach for the Top,” and subsequently chosen to host a selection of other talk shows. He came to the states in 1970. However, it wasn’t until 1984 when he began hosting “Jeopardy,” the show that would make him famous.

The show has won 28 Emmy’s to date, and he has won five of them himself. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He’s currently married to his second wife, whom he wed in 1990. They have two children, and the couple owned a ranch in California on which they trained thoroughbred horses. He’s worn his signature mustache for more than 30 years, and it’s one of the things he is most famous for aside from his game show hosting abilities. It was 2001 when he shaved it off for the first time, shocking the world. He grew it back out, shaved it again and has continued to do so throughout the course of the past decade or so.

Alex Trebek has hosted “Jeopardy” for so long he’s already the winner when it comes to the most game shows hosted. He has a Guinness World Record for the most game show episodes hosted by the same presenter. He was awarded this on June 13, 2014. At the time, he’d already hosted 6,829 episodes of the famous show. He will continue to host for the time being, however, he’s already 75-years-old. It’s only a matter of time before the world believes he will retire and spend the rest of his days with his kids and his wife. More than 30 years on the air is enough for one man on one show. For the time being, though, it does not appear that he is going anywhere.

My kids love to whine, so I love to wine. My loves include nap time, bed time, date night, travel and evenings and weekends when my husband is home because he handles all diaper changes.
