Eminem Net Worth

Eminem is a 42-year-old rapper from Michigan with a net worth of approximately $190 million. He began his music career in 1992, but it wasn’t until 1999 that he became the famous rapper he is today when he released “The Slim Shady LP,” and people across the country began to fall in love with his sheer talent and his honest words. Many people are unaware that Marshall Mathers was born in Missouri before his parents separated and his father moved to California. He wasn’t a permanent resident of Detroit until he was 11, and both his parents were in the same band before they called it quits on their relationship and moved on. He was a loner as a child, and he was bullied by other kids to the point that his injuries were so severe his mother sued the school he attended.

Eminem began rapping when he was 14, but it would be years before he was able to become famous from it. His home life was tumultuous, made more so by the fact that his paranoid mother allowed a runaway girl by the name of Kim to enter the house and live. That would be the same Kim that mothered Eminem’s child and became the subject of so much of his hate. By the time 1997 rolled around, he and Kim and their daughter were living in his mother’s trailer and he’d already attempted suicide once. When he released the Slim Shady album in 1999, his life began to turn around. When he released “The Marshall Mathers LP” in 2000, records broke.

Eminem sold more records in one week than any other hip hop artist, which broke Snoop Dogg’s record. He also sold more albums than any other solo artists in the business, which was a record held at the time by Britney Spears. His lyrics were raunchy and awful, mean and some people found that they were highly inappropriate. However, people loved his music and began buying it like it was going out of style, allowing him to make more money than he’d ever had. That’s when he moved his family out of the projects and began living the high life. Unfortunately, he also had some issues with alcohol, his then-wife and his personal life.

It didn’t take long after his initial album was released for everyone to want a piece of Slim Shady, the alter ego of Eminem that was mean, hateful and very crazy. He was offered a label called Shady Records in 1999, and he was working hard with Dr. Dre on their many collaborations. He was the first of the people in the music industry to sign acts such as Obie Trice and even 50 Cent, and he worked often with Dr. Dre on their musical compilations. He began acting in 2002, but he didn’t make any hits until he starred in the movie “8 Mile,” In which he wrote the famous song “Lose Yourself,” that was the Academy Award winning song in 2003 and the hip hop song that was the longest running number 1 in history.

Most all of his income is derived from the music industry, though he does make a little acting. He has been divorced twice from his previous wife, Kim, and he still only has one daughter. His daughter is a high school graduate and college student, Eminem is now clean and he’s managed to straighten up his life quite a bit, and he’s using his net worth for better things than he might have when he was younger.
